For some individuals, adjustment of status within the United States is not an option due to the manner in which the person entered the United States.

However, such individuals with approved visa petitions may instead choose to apply for permanent resident status through consular processing. An individual undergoing consular processing is interviewed at the United States Consulate/Embassy in their country of citizenship.

It bears noting that the individual’s priority date must be current according to the visa bulletin issued by the United States Department of State.

If you are interested in pursuing adjustment of status in your home country and need assistance with preparing your documents for the National Visa Center or for an appointment with the United States Consulate or Embassy in your home country, please call and schedule a consultation with Christophe Law Group, P.C. Our experienced attorneys will walk you through the process.
